Build: medium built, not stocky, but slim and streamlined. Long legs and a very curving spine, giving them full flexibility like an eel
Pelt: thick, blubbery skin, but soft and slick like that of a dolphin or seal.

Head: long nose, arabian tilt with a large dorsal fin instead of a mane

Eyes: large, round pupils, much like a horse, any color

Feet: Strong hooves with a thick, rubbery frog that's hard to pierce, giving them traction on slick, wet surfaces. This enables shorestriders to easily perch on wave-blasted rocks like a goat.

Tail: extremely long and flexible, the enormous dorsal fin that starts at the base of their hips and trails down the length gives them their agility and speed in the water.

Conformation: bloodstriders are extremely rare and are fully carnivorous, vs the normal mostly-herbivorous shorestriders. Bloodstriders have a blood red dorsal and are generally more nocturnal or deep sea striders.

First Impressions: hippocampi or mythical sirens

General Personality: elusive, but crave attention. Highly friendly when they get to know you, they'll trust you for life. Very protective of what's considered theirs, but not territorial. Fairly carefree and inquisitive, yet highly intelligent and oftentimes seem to share memories throughout the herd.
