WaterbugsThe giant snake slithered across the waves, half floating, half swimming as his eyes searched the surface. Occasionally, he dipped his head beneath the water, ducked down and swam through the calm. A large vibrant blue waterdrak swam casually at his side, the drak clearly more at ease in the water than the snake. With only a pair of two dorsal fins, the xalik was more at home in the ashlands of western Tehutai than the oceans north of the continent. The snake, however, had to breath and so continued to surface as they traveled the gently rolling waves.Far beyond sight of the shore, the snake twisted, coiling across the water and floating there like a buoy briefly, then began to shrink. The fine scales morphed larger, and grew plated. They shifted colors faintly until he was more gray than blue. The slim body bulged outwards until spindly arms popped. Eventually, the streamlined body was more segmented than not, though the tail flattened out and curled around the junda, allowing him to
Mission 004 - A Gryphon's CourageAshdar stares at you from his great height. By far the largest gryphon in Zhatana, if not the largest in the world, the Lord Gryphon was a massive feathered beast, intimidating even the older vetrans at times. Ruined Shack_RPAbout midway between Zhatana and Heron's Peak is a simple empty field. Along the outer edges is a small ram-shackle house that had been there longer than anyone could remember. The house should have been torn down a long time ago, it leaked worse than a sieve and the boarded up windows and door had long since stopped keeping anything out.The field no longer produced any sort of edible crop. Abandoned long ago, weeds had since sprang up and choked out whatever used to grow there until it was nothing more than abundant wildflowers.Beyond the house, nothing along the Zhatana-to-Heron's Peak road really stood out to travelers. Idle curiosity had caused many an explorer (or child) to wander into the house, only to get hurt. Next to the overgrown path leading to the house was a sign warning travelers away. The main road was wide and well used, thoroughly discouraging travelers from straying too far from its safety.
The Tower_RPThe tower stood tall, surrounded as it was by the giant sequoia of the north. Its gray stone was thick with vines, allowing it to blend into the forest as if it had always belonged there. The top of the tower looked as if it had once been a watchtower, though now the vines had overgrown everywhere, even partially down the open stairs at the top.A single small side tower spawned off the edge near the top, looking to be in slightly better shape than the rest of the tower. Though the tower itself remained quite sturdy, it didn't look very livable.Squatting next to the tall tower was a small building; a stables. It stood quite empty, and had for a long time, though the state of disrepair was no worse than the tower. Something kept it relatively clean and clear of destructive rodents. Several runes lined the doorways of both stables and tower.Walking in the front door, it was larger than it looked. The main room was simple, holding only a table that dominated the room, and a couch with s
