Mierlatha are extremely smart, sometimes eerily so, as though they comprehend concepts and ideas like a sentient.

Breeding:

No real difference between male and female, however mierlatha are parasitic. An adult mierlatha does not care for her young, but leaves the egg (or eggs) in a nest of newborn kittens. They begin wobbling immediately and hatch fairly quickly. The scent of the kittens soon becomes the hatchlings scent and thus is why the queen doesn't immediately discard the surprise kitten upon her return. A newborn mierlatha is pitch black, but, as with the scent, the fur eventually molds into a random pattern that matches the genes of those around it.

At birth, mierlatha resemble cats, with the fuzzy fur and short stumpy tail. There is tiny bumpy ridges along their back. As the mierlatha kitten grows, tiny scales appear along its legs and spine. At the age of four, the kittens are fully grown. Colors and patterns are the same as any natural cat breed, from siamese, burman and calico, to seal-point and tabby.
