{Temperamental} Not much will set Kel off, really, she has an extremely short fuze due to her life as a slave and will book zero argument, though at times, she is willing to hear other options. When she's made her mind up, however, its her way or the gangplank.

{Ruthless} Not much stands in her way for long. She will cut someone down if they object too much or begin sowing dissention among her crew. She will, however, make SURE of rumors before acting on them. She has better hearing than the average icekin due to being a f'kar hybrid.

{Fair} Do her wrong and she'll dislike you for a long time. However, she thinks her decisions through carefully to be sure of the right course of action. If she comes across two injured parties, she will most likely help the one in the right, though she still can often be found playing both sides…a true pirate.

{Witty} Her wit is as dry as a landlocked city. Though Kel may not say much, when she does, its to the point and can often defuse anger.

History: born outside the ashlands to a pair of exiles, Kel has had to fight for everything she's had. Her parents were killed by a couple of icekin, leaving the small child behind. She'd managed to hide and could only watch, fist stuffed into her mouth to keep from screaming. She'd remained long after they were gone, trying to get her parents to move, before finally searching for food. After a few days, their food stores were gone and the bodies were beginning to stink, forcing her to move.

She was lost in the forest for weeks before coming across a military camp outside Baraza, who promptly took her captive and used the child to run errands everywhere. She was clothed and fed, at least, so at first she didn't mind, but the treatment quickly got to her.

Kel tried running away several times, but was caught. For the next 10 years, she remained a slave of that camp. One day, however, she retaliated, which resulted in the death of the officer beating her. Terrified, she fled into the mountains and managed to lose them in a cave system. Her natural night sight far superior to an elf.

For another few weeks, she traveled the mountains on her own, until she crossed them and ended up in Torijo, where she got a job as a dock worker. The people of Torijo didn't seem to care what she looked like or her obvious f'kar decent, so long as she could work. Which she did.

Eventually, however, she grew tired of the constant strain and stowed away on a ship. She was found fairly quickly, but instead of throwing her overboard, the corsair captain made her a part of his crew. Satisfied and happy for the first time in nearly 15 years, Kel set to it with a will, eventually becoming second-in-command, and later, captain herself, of the pirate ship, Behemoth.

A few years later (Kel is 22 years old), they were attacked by a larger corsair fleet and destroyed. Her crew were taken captive, but eventually absorbed into the larger fleet. [] forced herself to rise in the ranks again. She had become ruthless in her drive, not letting anyone, or anything, stand in her way. Sometime during this, she was attacked by a starving vampire. Refusing to give up, however, Kel simply continued, dealing with her subsequent death and rebirth and moving on. Later, she actually thanked the dead vampire (they'd managed to kill each other), as the vampiric power made her even stronger, allowing her to become a captain of one of the ships in the "Admiral's" fleet, the immortal Blake Tetch.

Notes

Admiral Blake Tetch has been several people over the thousands of years he's been 'alive.' The persona and mantle of the title has been passed from one corsair to another, thus keeping him 'alive' for nearly a thousand years. (Zorro)
