Part of Astarote's "Jiezú" line of Chilozai from his years on Jazar, Dusmaceo and his counterpart Fiagaí are several-generations-bred by the warrior; his line specifically was geared toward helping in service situations and general work around the compound. He, along with several other creatures the Voivode gathered while in 'exile', came back when Astarote returned to Deepwick. Dus was subsequently claimed by Duncan as a potential helper for his missions, The friendly and versatile assistant appealing for more common-work.
He has since become an asset in helping to soothe those youngsters and the frightened, and has proven himself invaluable when assisting the injured in the field; having learned many herbs to retrieve, and generally affording a soothing presence for anyone the world-worn wolf's usually gruff demeanor intimidates.
